Attar (also spelled ittar) is a perfume oil worn on skin, with no alcohol; ours is blended in Kannauj on a carrier oil base. They are concentrated oils that are applied directly to the skin.
Our attars typically last 8-12 hours on skin. Because they are pure oils (not diluted with alcohol), they release gradually throughout the day, evolving and changing character over time. Applying to pulse points and moisturized skin helps extend longevity.
We do not test on animals, and neither does the perfumer we buy from. We do not claim the oils are entirely plant-based: they sit on a carrier base, and some are compounded blends.
A little goes a very long way. One or two small dabs on your pulse points (wrists, behind ears, inner elbows) is sufficient. Attars are highly concentrated — a 10ml bottle typically lasts 2-3 months with daily use.
Attar keeps well. Stored in a cool, dark place with the cap tightly closed it lasts for years, and many people find the heavier ones — oud, amber — settle and deepen over the first few months. Keep it out of direct sun and away from heat.
